Transportation and Access

Position Statement

The CHNA9 supports policies that increase health, economic mobility, and social connectedness through infrastructure that supports people's ability to get around and to access services remotely. Such policies include:

  • Closing the digital divide that keeps rural communities from fully participating in the digital economy and from accessing needed services that are difficult to get to
  • Equitable reimbursement for telehealth services, including audio-only services
  • Increased mobile services
  • Increased funding for transit, especially for on-demand services, green services, and innovative, sustainable transit solutions for rural communities
  • Increased oversight and community voice in transit governance and decision-making
