Awareness of Interpersonal Violence and Trafficking

  • A CHNA9 working group meets monthly to share resources, upcoming events, and discuss training opportunities.
  • Dr. Deborah Stone, PhD in Health Promotion and Professor at Fitchburg State University who teaches forensic nursing, has given an in-depth presentation on human trafficking in North Central Mass to several local partner organizations. To request a presentation, please contact us or Dr. Stone.
  • Working group members also completed an online training on human trafficking by Polaris. The training is available on our Tools and Resources page.
  • The CHNA9 supports events throughout the region such as International Denim Day, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Empty Place at the Table campaign by the YWCA, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Purple Paw Walk (raising funds and awareness of pets in need of fostering to enable their owners to leave a domestic violence situation), and more.
  • CHNA9 participates in organizing legislative advocacy for bills supporting survivors of sexual and domestic violence.
